Revisions for Section 2257 of the Adam Walsh Child Protection Act regulating adult content record-keeping has been released and one provision may lead to fewer foreigners being able to perform in American porn. Part of the law that goes into effect in three months states:
“(O)nly a U.S.-government-issued picture identification card complies with the regulations relating to productions in the United States, no matter whether the performer is a U.S. or foreign citizen.”
This means that the likes of German Logan McCree will have to obtain a driver’s license or ID to shoot porn in the U.S. Yet the majority of states require a social security number (unavailable to foreigners) in order to obtain such verification. Other than if foreign porn stars are willing to travel to the eight states (Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah and Washington) that don’t require a social security number to obtain an ID, it’ll probably mean the end of Europeans fucking on-camera in America.
Expect more analysis of the new law in the coming days.
